Job Description:
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is a federal agency of Pakistan that is responsible for recruiting civil servants and bureaucrats for the federal government of Pakistan. The agency was established in 1926 under the Government of India Act and was initially known as the Public Service Commission. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the agency was renamed as the Federal Public Service Commission.
The FPSC conducts various competitive examinations for recruitment to the civil service, including the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination. The agency also conducts exams for recruitment to various federal government departments, ministries, and organizations. The FPSC is responsible for ensuring transparency, merit, and objectivity in the selection process.
The FPSC is headquartered in Islamabad and operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. The commission consists of a chairman and members appointed by the President of Pakistan. The chairman of the FPSC is the chief executive of the commission and is responsible for the overall functioning of the agency.
